Mastering is the last stage in the sound engineering process. Today, analogue mastering is more essential than
ever for creating a realistic, full-flavoured sound that is as faithful as possible to the original performance.
In recent decades, advertising succeeded in spreading the "digital is perfect"
myth among consumers as well as among professionals with a lack of critical awareness. Cost-cutting trends did
the rest: analogue devices have vanished from most music studios.
Digital technology does, however, have some disadvantages. A careful listener is able to notice the difference
between a well-recorded LP and a common CD. Admittedly, the CD finished with the background noise problem, but
it is also true that the sound has lost much of its warmth and musical flavour. It
is not simply that you miss the good olden days; there is a technical explanation for this phenomenon, but this
is matter for a different time.
In order to mitigate the effects of the digital trend, some engineers have developed innovative solutions for analogue mastering. In spite of this, the high cost of this kind of devices has hindered
many studios from incorporating them to their equipment. In order to fill this niche of the market, we established
Q Mastering Studio.
Q Mastering Studio is a small, dynamic company that aids sound studios, producers,
and musicians in improving the quality of both single tracks and whole CDs. Our goal is to provide your works with
the "organic" sound, the warmth and the musical expressiveness they deserve.
