With sound files : 39.95 DM) Supposedly superlearning (suggestopedic) techniques implemented here consist in displaying words in different fonts, layouts and colors, sometimes in full-screen. One-line text only :-( An example sentence can be added to the word on each side of the flashcard. Wave files can be added or recorded. Stats included, filtering system similar to Leitner (5 stages) implemented. Training modes : slideshow (superlearning, see above), vocabulary test, verbs, translate sentences, fill the blanks. "Verbs" training mode consists in prompting with the tense name etc. and asking the form :-Þ No extensive use of keys (mouse is a must). As it often occurs, such a load of empty fireworks is praised by the press : "hochinnovativ und sehr gelungen" by c't 10/99, "cool" by Der Spiegel 19/99 |

But it includes a vocabulary trainer, which is the only thing we will review here. (Okay, let's mention some fancy things: it can scroll several docs simultaneously and it can reverse strings. The translation engine is not very effective since it works wordwise. The dictionary is quite big: about 40000 words.) Question direction can be set freely. Packs of flashcards can be merged, sorted, messed up. One-line text :-( with sound attachment (<wav> files). Up to 32000 in each Pack of flashcards. "Multiple sided" flashcards: words accept several translations or right answers. Words can be imported from the language databases of the translation module of the program, which are plain text files. No Leitner system, no scoring, only the list of missed flashcards is stored. |
